Aperture and Depth of Field
For the shallow depth of field photo of the train tracks (photo 1), I used an ISO setting of 200 and the white balance setting "shade". I also used these settings for the large depth of field photo of the train tracks (photo 2). I think the first photo is better (large depth of field) because it allows you to see more in the photo. Using a shallow depth of field might be helpful while trying to focus to on a small object or the small details of an object. Using a large depth of field might be helpful while trying to focus on a large area such as a landscape or a place.

Favorite Place or Thing (Point of View)
I chose to photograph a candle. I've always been interested in photographing light. I also like the scent of the candle, which makes it one of my favorite things. I photographed the candle from long, close, detail, ground level, ant, aerial, and side points of view. In order to keep the photo in focus (on the flame), I had to keep adjusting the focus setting on the camera. To avoid distracting backgrounds, I photographed in the dark. I also considered the composition and depth of field in my work by getting rid of any other objects in the background, and by photographing it from different points of view.
